We all are busy – this is a fact. But the way we spend our time doing a certain task speaks volumes of how well we organize ourselves and do things. In this article, we shall show you six proven time management tips you can rely on to optimize not just your professional life, but your personal growth as well.

Tip #1: Know Yourself

Time management is a process. It requires persistence and keen attention to detail. Being impatient and expecting results to happen overnight would not just cut it. You have to be patient with yourself and realize what works for you. Remember, there is no such thing as a silver bullet. You have to more or less tweak the formula to your own liking and experience. As such, seeking advice is nice. But heeding too much to what others would have to say would be somehow counterproductive to you. Hence, assess yourself, seek advice, and tweak it accordingly.

Tip #2: Tickler is your friend

Never beats the traditional way. While you may find this too tiresome and taxing but writing everything you need to do helps to remind you of the things you have to achieve on a daily basis. Though this might be a bit hard at the onset give it time and it will be part of your daily routine. Remember, habits are made. You just have to push and remind yourself to do it.

Tip #3: Be Realistic

Tasks can be divided further into smaller activities. The goal is not to do everything in one day. Brokers can distribute these activities to different dates to ensure that you are at your best in performing the tasks at hand. As you are always out in the field talking to clients, being at your most optimal condition is not optional but necessary. Hence, distributing your workload efficiently will allow you to perform everything at the best possible time in the best possible manner. But all of this will happen if you write everything in your tickler.

Tip #4: Do it now mindset!

A sound mind leads to a healthy body and disposition. See to it that simple things should be done immediately then prolonging it. Setting things aside results in neglecting or procrastinate them. This mindset is not healthy considering that the field out there is a harsh jungle. Easy tasks such as writing a letter or calling someone, though they can be scheduled, you can do it immediately without delay. Remember, you are doing this to increase your performance.

Tip #5: Smart Calendaring

Smartphones nowadays have synchronized calendaring system. And they are programmed in such a way that you can remind yourself of a certain task a day or two before that. Again, this is still a habit that must be developed. A general rule of thumb though is not to squeeze in meetings and to-do things in one day. Delegate still and exercise extreme caution in committing yourself with clients or executives.

Tip #6: Take Care of yourself

Perhaps the most important tip of all. You are not a robot you are a human with limitations. Fueling your stomach and eating at the right time will allow you to do everything effectively and efficiently. Skipping meals tend to result in poor performance and an unnecessary visit to the hospital delaying much of your work and important deals to make. If you are too busy to even have a decent lunch or meal, bringing snacks or biscuits would not harm. After all, you are working to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Aside from this, you can take on a short reprieve from all the stress. You can go on vacation for a while to regain your momentum and focus. Read a book or enjoy films in movie houses. These activities can uplift your mood and further improve the quality of work that you do. Balancing your personal life and work will be fruitful.

The daily grind pushes everyone to their limits. There is just a certain threshold that the human body and mind can tolerate. Ensuring that you can perform well in a short amount of time and in the right approach will surely aid to the advancement of your career.
