MANILA – Property seekers looked mostly in Quezon City or Cebu for properties to rent and buy last year, making the cities the property hotspots in 2020, data from property finder Lamudi showed.
In its report “Hotspots Unwrapped: 2020’s Most Popular Locations”, Lamudi said Quezon City remains the most in-demand location in Metro Manila for property seekers, taking 12.76 percent of overall pageviews in 2020.

CITIES in the National Capital Region (NCR) that host business districts and economic hubs remain the most popular among property hunters in the third quarter of 2020, according to the latest study of Lamudi.
It is the middle income and luxury market that saved the day for the local property sector.
According to Colliers Philippines, despite the pandemic, projects in the mid-income to luxury segments or those priced at P3.2 million and above showed resilience during the first nine months of 2020 and accounted for 89 percent of total launches during the period.
Market Edge: While business districts in Metro Manila remain popular, online property portal, Lamudi Philippines, says it was regions outside the capital which showed a significant increase in real estate demand during the third quarter of the year. Lamudi CEO Kenneth Stern explains many have decided to leave saturated cities and move to the provinces where e-commerce industries and last-mile deliveries thrive.

MORE PROPERTY seekers are interested in buying house and lot properties as well as land-only projects due to the lockdown, online property marketplace Lamudi said in a report on Monday.
“After the experience of staying at home for a long period, property seekers appreciate larger floor areas in their property. House and lots and land-only projects have captured great interest as preferences for the living set-up tilt to horizontal developments,” Lamudi said in its third quarter report.
Vista Residences, the condominium development arm of the country’s largest homebuilder Vista Land & Lifescapes, Inc., is making its units available on online platform Lamudi.
According to the latest trend report released by the Philippines’ leading real estate platform, Lamudi and investment management company Colliers International, the pandemic was not a roadblock to the real estate sector.
