By social, we mean, up your social media game! It’s easy for your post or photo to get lost in the sea of Valentine’s Day themed posts and contest, so shift your goal to giving back. Take the likes and shares only as a bonus.
Share an article or an establishment that delight you. It could be a third-wave coffee shop around the corner or a small organic soap business you absolutely adore. Tag and give them a shout out this day of hearts. The baristas and business owners will surely appreciate it. Boosting somebody else’s good and honest work is well-worth the post!
Celebrate with your buyers
Your clients and buyers are at a very important phase of their lives, regardless of whether it’s their first property or their seventh. The process of buying a house and creating a personal space is a long and intimate one, and you are part of their journey.
Show how honored and blessed you are of their trust and being part of their journey by popping open a champagne bottle at the signing of the documents for your new clients and sending small house warming gifts for your previous ones. Much like in a romantic relationship, going above and beyond regular exchanges leave a positive mark on your clients.
Thank your champions
No man is an island and no real estate agent is without a team. With your busy schedule, it’s easy to forget and not mind the people working with you for your common goal.
Today, take the time to thank the people behind the scenes, the people keeping the office running while you meet clients and close deals. These people work very hard to keep things running smoothly. They are the receptionists in your building, the marketing manager making sure that your ads and flyers go off without a hitch and the transaction coordinators that make sure you have everything you need at every meeting.
Show them how much you appreciate their hard work by being the one to fill up the coffee machine, or by writing them a small note coupled with a spa gift certificate. They deserve some pampering too!
Express your admiration towards a fellow agent
You know how hard and hectic being a real estate agent can be. And also, how much harder it is to be a good and excellent one. So, this day of hearts, show your admiration to the agents you’ve worked with this year. Push aside competition and meditate on what about them that inspires you.
We can learn many things from our mentors, but even more things and lessons from our colleagues and comrades. Send them a bottle of bubbly and note stating how they inspired you and how much you’re looking forward to working with them in the future – “Thank you for setting the bar high every time. Happy Valentine’s Day!”
Get to know your neighborhood
And this goes beyond just knowing the lots and houses, and their value. Get to know your neighbors. After all, what kind of real estate agent are you if you’re not even well-versed with your own neighborhood? Instead of sending baskets of goodies bought from the store, or a small bouquet of flowers, make it a little bit personal.
Dust off your baking skills and wow your neighbors with your cookies and brownies. If you don’t know how to bake, initiate a small dinner at your place to foster a night of easy companionship and foundation of friendships.
These are just a few ways to make your clients, neighbors, and teams feel special this holiday. However, remember that Valentine’s Day need not be contained to just one day! Show your appreciation and gratitude every day, and the world will follow suit. Have a great Valentine’s Day!
