New Megaworld office building in McKinley West, Fort Bonifacio, to offer 98,000 square meters of premium office spaces
Property giant and office leasing leader Megaworld Corporation is again expanding its office inventory in McKinley West, one of its integrated township developments in Fort Bonifacio in Taguig.
The initial 66,000 square meters of leasable office spaces from the six campus-type office towers soon to rise along the Le Grand Avenue of McKinley West will increase by almost 50 percent, totaling to 98,000 square meters of premium office spaces.
The additional 32,000 square meters will come from the seventh building in their campus-type office tower series. To be called 10 West Campus, the new tower will stand 17 stories high, 13 of which will be allotted for offices while the remaining floors are for podium parking, retail areas, and recruitment centers for business process outsourcing (BPO) tenants.
“We are upbeat about McKinley West because this township stands in a very premium location right beside Forbes Park and has a convenient fast access to the Makati central business district (through McKinley Road), C5 Road, the South Luzon Expressway, and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport,” says Jericho Go, Megaworld’s Senior Vice President.
The six campus-type towers (One West Campus, Two West Campus, Three West Campus, Five West Campus, Six West Campus, and Eight West Campus) are already 70 percent pre-leased to mostly information technology and BPO companies, while almost a quarter of the upcoming 10 West Campus project is now pre-committed.
With the expansion in McKinley West, the announced Php20 billion budget to increase Megaworld’s office space inventory in its several township developments in Fort Bonifacio will likewise increase by 15 percent. The company reported that it is earmarking Php23 billion in capital expenditure for office towers in Fort Bonifacio in an effort to boost its office inventory close to 700,000 square meters in the said prime area. If this trend continues, the company said that it will be leasing more than 30 office towers in Fort Bonifacio alone within the next two years.
Megaworld in a statement also said that it has some of the biggest landbanks in Fort Bonifacio and the company is confident that it will turn the area into a bustling business hub and a great alternative to the already congested Makati CBD.
