Want to get away from all the stress and pressure of Metro Manila’s hustle and bustle? Or to relax and immerse one’s self in the beauty of nature? Located merely 40 kilometers from Manila, the City of Sta. Rosa is waiting with open arms, with all the splendor and beauty that nature and civilization has to offer. Despite the rapid urbanization of certain areas outside the Metro, including areas in the Province of Laguna, the city of Santa Rosa remains to be one of the few areas close to the Metro that has preserved the lush greenery of nature. This is evident in the Paseo de Santa Rosa and Nuvali areas where the developers have maintained a generous proportion of trees and fields despite the urbanization, and the construction of residential and commercial establishments that comes with it.

In Manila, Santa Rosa is known primarily for the Enchanted Kingdom, which may be considered as the Disneyland of the Philippines, at least until Disney decides to open up shop in the country. As perhaps the only local theme park that can be found just outside the bounds of the Metro, the Enchanted Kingdom has served as the go-to summer destination of kids, teens, and even adults since it opened in 1995. Another “attraction” that may be found in Sta. Rosa is the Coca-Cola Factory, which used to house the primary manufacturing arm of the world-famous soda company. Today, the Factory operates as a bottling plant since the company decided to transfer its primary manufacturing operations elsewhere, particularly in Singapore. The Factory, however, was and still is a common field trip destination for educational institutions.

 

Moving to Sta. Rosa?

The cost of purchasing a home in Sta. Rosa would go for around Php400,000 to Php45 million, depending on the physical structure of the house to be purchased, the convenience of its location in the city and in the Province, and the type of house being considered. Foreclosed houses may be considered, since these are usually cheaper as compared to regular ones. However, those planning to buy foreclosed homes should proceed with caution, since such purchase may or may not involve certain risks. Foreclosed homes start at Php420,000, and may go for as high as Php11.8 million.

Renting a home, on the other hand, can go for around Php10,000 a month to Php150,000 a month, depending once again, on the aforementioned factors. Prime spots in the city would most likely include areas in or within a reasonable distance from areas like Nuvali, or those within reach of the South Luzon Expressway or other key access points in the city.

Rent-to-Own Houses are also available for interested buyers. One available listing is for a dilapidated property that is priced at Php1.2 million. The house itself is 50-percent complete, and the renovation and continuation of the construction is offered at a 25-percent discount.
