In 2014, it was recorded that offices in the Ortigas Center take up around 132,640 square meters.

The City of Mandaluyong, wherein a portion of the Ortigas Center is located, is dubbed “the Shopping Capital of the Philippines.” Coincidentally, at least five shopping malls are located within the vicinity: SM Megamall, Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Robinsons Galleria, The Podium, and St. Francis Square Mall. Greenhills, which is one of the first shopping centers in the Metro, is also located nearby, while the newly opened Ayala at the 30th is located along Meralco Avenue.

Well-known schools such as University of Asia and the Pacific, St. Pedro Poveda College, and St. Paul Pasig are also found within the vicinity, while La Salle Greenhills, a similarly renowned school, is also located nearby.

For avid golfers, Wack Wack Country Club is also a short drive away from the Ortigas CBD. Other facilities located within or near the vicinity include the Medical City Hospital, the Meralco Theater, and the EDSA Shrine.

Considered as one of the most important Central Business Districts in the Philippines, the Ortigas Center is home to some of the biggest companies here, including the headquarters of industry giants, such as the San Miguel Corporation, Meralco, HSBC, and Jollibee. The 100-hectare land on which the CBD stands was acquired and developed by Ortigas & Company in the 1930s, and formed part of a bigger estate. Once an unused 4,033-hectare estate, called the Hacienda de Mandaloyon, owned by the Augustinian Order, the Ortigas Center has now become one of the busiest areas in the Metro. Despite this, however, the CBD remains to be easily accessible for those working or living within the vicinity. The CBD is bordered by four main roads: EDSA, Shaw Boulevard, Meralco Avenue, and Ortigas Avenue, and is landmarked along EDSA by malls, such as Shangri-La Plaza Mall, SM Megamall, and Robinsons Galleria. It is also accessible via the MRT Line 3, with train stops at the Shaw and Ortigas stations. The CBD’s location is also accessible for those travelling to and from Makati, San Juan, and Bonifacio Global City.

The vicinity within and surrounding the Ortigas Center is also worthy of note, considering that the area is located close to high-rise condominium buildings, various malls and shopping centers, well-known educational institutions, and even gourmet restaurants. Nearly everything one might need can be found within a stone’s throw away, and with little to no hassle.

Having an office space in the Ortigas Center is a statement of status. Carrying the address in your company’s business card bears with it the reputation maintained by the Ortigas Center.

Leasing an office space in the Ortigas area may prove to be more practical for conservative companies, as the price of renting an office space would be significantly cheaper than the price of purchasing one. For instance, purchasing an 882-square-meter office space in the One Corporate Center Tower would cost around PHP 110 million. Leasing a 1,000-square-meter office space within the vicinity, however, would cost only around PHP 900,000 per month. Of course, various factors, such as the location of the building and its developer, have to be taken into consideration when it comes to comparing prices. Small- to medium-scale businesses may be interested in leasing office spaces of around 100 to 300 square meters. These office spaces range from around PHP 50,000 to PHP 180,000. Large-scale businesses such as BPOs or other similar industries, on the other hand, would require larger offices of around 900 to 1,500 square meters. These office spaces can range from PHP 500,000 to a little under a million pesos. Larger corporations, or those corporations with a large number of employees may even opt to lease an entire building. A 40-story building, for example, may be leased at around PHP 3 million per month.
