Today, Pasay City is a well-known transportation, entertainment, and shopping hub. Three of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s (NAIA) are in Pasay (namely Terminals 2, 3, and 4), highways, and expressways provide multiple access points to and from the city. The Villamor Airbase of the Philippine Air Force is also located in Pasay, and a number of major roads and thoroughfares crisscross the city, including the Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), Roxas Boulevard, Gil Puyat Avenue, Taft Avenue, and the Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard. At the same time, much of the entire length of the elevated NAIA Expressway traverses areas of Pasay, which makes commute between NAIA’s terminals easier. At the same time, the NAIA Expressway also provides a direct access between the South Luzon Expressway and the Bay City, saving commuters from the south hours when they need to travel to Roxas Boulevard and neighboring areas.

The Metro Manila Skyway and the South Luzon Expressway also run through the city on its southeastern end. As a shopping and entertainment destination, Pasay boasts of the Mall of Asia (MOA), Newport City and Resorts World Manila, the Philippine International Convention Center, the MOA Arena (where the 2016 Miss Universe pageant was held) and a string of entertainment centers along Roxas Boulevard. The city is also home to the World Trade Center Manila, the Philippine National Bank Financial Center, and a host of national government agencies.

A city closing in on prominence similar to that of Makati and Taguig, Pasay is definitely an ideal home for future residents wanting to enjoy a more complete lifestyle. Away from work, shopping malls, entertainment centers, and airports that will lead to even greater destinations are aplenty. As such, choosing to live in Pasay City should be an easy decision, and residing in an apartment is an affordable starting point.

Finding an Apartment for Rent in Pasay: 5K Price Range

Finding an apartment for rent in Pasay can be easy, given the city’s many residential areas that host traditional apartments (or rowhouses) and new apartment projects both in older neighborhoods and up-and-coming developments. One of the these areas include the MOA Complex, SM Prime’s massive project by the Manila Bay and home to the massive Mall of Asia, the MOA Arena, several office buildings, and multi-tower apartments. These residential projects include Shell Residences, Sea Residences, and Shore Residences.

Another area is Megaworld’s Newport City in Villamor, which is a development anchored by Resorts World Manila. Residents here will enjoy proximity to a shopping mall, a casino, upscale hotels, and even an air-conditioned footbridge to Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

This does not mean, however, that apartments for rent in Pasay can only be found in newly developed mixed-use projects. In fact, in the Taft Avenue and Roxas Boulevard areas of Pasay one will find numerous developments where apartments can be leased. A perfect example is DMCI Homes’ La Verti development along Taft Avenue. For home-seekers willing to shell out an extra PHP 500 for a total of PHP 5,500 per month, there are two viable options. One is in the Libertad (Pasay Road) area of the city. This studio-type unit is complete with a kitchen and a bathroom, an individual Meralco meter, a rooftop where clothes can be dried, and 24-hour security. The contract requires a two-month advance and a one-month deposit. The apartment is only 15 minutes away from the LRT1 Libertad station and the MRT Taft (EDSA) station.

The other option is in F. B. Harrison, which is close to Manila’s Malate District, and is a unit that can house up to three people. It has a common bathroom and kitchen. A couple of caveats to living in the unit: Only employed individuals are allowed to rent it, and children and pets are not allowed. Its lease contract requires a one-month deposit, a one-month advance, and a full-year contract to fulfill. It is near SM Harrison Plaza, Shopwise, Star City, and the Mall of Asia.
