Atty. Lloyd Christopher Lao

CEO, HLURB

Lloyd Christopher A. Lao is a lawyer, an educator and a mediator. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer and Commissioner of the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board.

He has occupied various positions in government, most notably as Undersecretary of the Presidential Management Staff - Office of the Special Assistant to the President; an Arbiter for Regional Field Office, HLURB - Southern Mindanao Region; and member of the Committee on Housing and Settlement - Sangguniang Panlungsod. He has taught in Ateneo de Davao University College of Law.

His interests include criminal justice education, human rights, urban and regional planning, national security issues, and alternative dispute resolution.

Atty. Lao took his graduate studies in Ateneo de Davao University.

Cathy Saldana

President, Arco Group

Cathy Saldana has overseen some of the most innovative planning, architecture and interior designs of hotels, resorts, retail, residential and corporate developments for clients such as Ayala Land, Filinvest, First Philippine Holdings, Discovery, and Shangri-La. She was President of the University of the Philippines (Diliman) Architecture Alumni Foundation. She has presented papers both locally and abroad for coastal design and construction.

She is a specialist in building on islands, a steward for environmental preservation. She is involved in various CSR activities relating to architecture. Her designs span high rise buildings, island developments, retail-mixed use, BPO, healthcare, hospitality, academic, institutional and civic projects.

She co-leads one of the country’s largest architectural outsourcing teams partnering and co-designing projects for clients across the world. Arcogroup’s studios collaborate with some of the biggest and best design firms globally. She is one of the country’s significant female Architects and is part of the new generation of strategic thought leaders for design.

Sheila Lobien

Former Regional Director of JLL and Chairwoman of the European Chamber of Commerce - Women in Business Committee

Sheila Lobien was a former Regional Director and Head of Project Leasing of a Fortune 500 property consulting firm and also the current chair of the Women in Business Committee of the European Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (ECCP).

To say that Sheila Lobien is a real estate professional is an understatement. In fact, her name figures in circuits as one of the movers of the industry itself and for good measure. Sheila, after all, was instrumental in leasing out close to a million square meters of office and commercial space in key business districts in the Philippines in less than a decade-- an impressive feat that backs the reputation that precedes her.

Initially the General Manager and Coaching GM of Regus Manila, she did a full shift to real estate services in 2008 when she joined JLL as the head of project leasing focusing on office and commercial buildings. Since then, Sheila has been continuously trudging forward, breaking boundaries and making her characteristic mark in the industry. Sheila knows how to focus on growth and claim it. Upon leading this new unit, she transformed the initial lone account to close to 100 exclusive building appointments in less than a decade. In 2012 alone, Sheila and her team claimed even more impressive achievements when she and her team were able to corner 20 sole new agency appointments of grade A and premium grade buildings, which racked up her company's market share in this industry sub-segment to 85% of all agency appointments in the country at that time, a dominating performance unmatched up to this day. Sterling performance became the norm for her and her team since then.

Currently taking a break from real estate consultancy services, Sheila is spearheading some key activities of the Women in Business of the ECCP zeroing in on mentoring, networking and other social activities geared to uplifting women professionals in business.

 

Ivy Almario

Founder, Atelier Almario

Ivy Almario, together with her sister Cynthia Almario, founded ATELIER ALMARIO. An interior design firm that specializes in high end residential and condominium work, restaurants, hotels and other commercial projects. Their atelier is highly regarded in the industry. Prior to founding Atelier Almario, Ivy had her own rendering firm in Los Angeles , Asian Design Resource in Beverly Hills California . Her clients included Hirsch Bedner/Trish Wilson and Associates, WWT & G. Intradesign, James Northcutt to name a few. For them she rendered presentation drawings for their Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, Rosewood and Grand Hyatt Projects world wide

Despite being one of the top renderers in the United States, she chose to go back to the Philippines and help in the development of top destination resorts, hotels and hi-end residential projects.

She was a featured designer for 6 segments of Interior Motives TV Series and her works are published in several Trade books, Magazines & Neswpapers. She has been the most sought speaker in Design Forums, Schools & Top Real Estate Events.

She has been very instrumental in developing world class products from the grassroots through GKonomics. She dreamt of bringing the best for the least so that the least become the best. She will be key in the development of eco-friendly and picturesque resorts and accommodation places in the Philippines through AGREA International. This fuels her passion for creating beautiful lives, making her a designer with a cause

She was the awardee of the Most Outstanding Professional Interior Designer Award 2017, a prestigious award given by the Professional Regulations Commision of the Republic of the Philippines

Alejandro Manalac

Andy has over 22 years of real estate experience and is an internationally recognized industry thought leader. He is currently the company representative to the Chamber of Real Estate and Builders’ Association (CREBA) and was recently inducted as Vice President for Housing Affairs. He is also the immediate past Chairman of the National Real Estate Association.

Andy has a stellar record in real estate sales & sales leader development, having held senior positions such as Chief Adviser of ThinkInvest Advisory Group and Senior Vice President for Sales of Century Properties.

Andy has been a licensed real estate broker since 1989. He is also an International REALTOR® Member and a Certified International Property Specialist of the National Association of REALTORS®.

Jean De Castro

CEO, ESCA Incorporated

Jean is the CEO of ESCA Inc., a full-service engineering consultancy firm that specializes in structural design, civil works, project and program management and Building Information Modeling (BIM) working with the country’s leading developers on residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects. She also heads ESCA International Inc., one of the pioneers of engineering outsourcing services in the Philippines.

Jean is a certified BIM Manager by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) of Singapore and a trained arbitrator of the Philippine Dispute and Resolution Center (PDRCI). She is an experienced litigator with construction arbitration and commercial disputes.

Jean worked with Bloomberg TV Philippines as a business news anchor for “First Up”, which included segments focusing on the real estate industry. She was also a consultant of the Privatization and Management Office of the Philippine Government where she advised on conflict of claims, privatization, joint venture agreements, negotiated procurement and public bidding of government assets.

Jean is presently undergoing the Senior Executive Institute (SEI) Program of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) in the United States.

 
 

Eric Manuel

Eric is leading ARCH Capital’s investment and management efforts in the Philippines. ARCH Capital is independently owned and managed Pan-Asian investment management firm targeting real estate opportunities across the major asset classes by capitalizing on its extensive network of industry contacts to source proprietary, off-market investments. The team are real estate professionals who manage investment capital rather than finance professionals who manage real estate.

For over 15 years, he has provided strategic advisory and transaction services to investor/occupier clients in the Commercial/Corporate Real Estate and Financial Services industries. He was involved in various phases of real estate in several continents - development, construction financing, asset management, leasing, acquisition /dispositions, and capital restructuring - and all asset classes - office, retail, residential, land, and hotel.

Recently, he has been appointed as Adjunct Faculty at the Asian Institute of Management, a leading business school in Asia Pacific. He has developed a new course to be launched in 1Q2019 called "RE/think: Disruptive Innovation in Real Estate", an interactive and collaborative course exploring the innovative products and technologies challenging the status quo in the real estate sector globally and locally. The emphasis is on bridging theory and practice to learn how to transform ideas into actionable strategy to develop, operate, and invest in future-ready buildings.

Mr. Manuel is a recognized speaker/panelist across Asia Pacific, on topics such as Trends in Philippine Real Estate, SE Asia Investments, Technology & Commercial RE, Design Thinking in Office Development, and Future of Work. He has also written several publications on Real Estate Finance, Basel III and Impact on Philippine RE, Currency Impacts on BPO Sector, and Next-Generation Office Buildings.

Mr. Manuel received an MSc in Local Economic Development, with honors, from the London School of Economics & Political Science and received a B.A. in Economics, graduating Summa Cum Laude, from SUNY Binghamton. Mr. Manuel also lectures across Asia Pacific for prestigious organizations such as Asia Pacific Real Estate Association (APREA) and CoreNet.

Michael McCullough

"As Managing Director of KMC Savills Inc. (Philippines), I manage the Commercial Real Estate brokerage team handling major tenant representation assignments. I've built important relationships to assist foreign clients with government agencies such as the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) & the Board of Investments (BOI) so that our clients receive the proper tax incentives for their investments into the Philippines. A large part of my commercial real estate experience is in advising multinational companies on their real estate needs for various locations in the Philippines, including next wave cities.

Lamudi's The Outlook 2018, the Philippines' first buyers' choice property awards, is privileged to have an independent panel of judges composed of highly esteemed and reputable personalities in Philippine real estate. These individuals, who have made names for themselves over the years in various segments of the industry, will play an important role in determining the winners of the awards.

Once submissions close on June 15, all the nominations have undergone an evaluation process using scoresheets customized for each award. These scoresheets contained evaluation criteria that are only relevant to the category, so each nomination have been assessed based only on factors that are significant to the said category. The judges reviewed the information provided in the nomination forms. They rated each nomination based on the criteria included in the category-specific scoresheet.

Winners of the Condominium, House, and Mixed-Use award categories were chosen using The Outlook Survey, the options of which will only be the five nominations in each category that received the highest scores from the judges. Respondents of The Outlook Survey are property seekers located within and beyond the Philippines who are chosen based on their search interests as expressed on Lamudi.com.ph. When the respondents' votes are tallied, the projects that receive the highest number of votes were declared the winners in their categories.

On the other hand, the judges determined the winners of the Commercial, Best Developer, Special, and Personality of the Year awards. The nominations with the highest score in each category as determined by the judges were declared the winner.
