San Lorenzo was among the first communities developed by the Ayala Corporation in the 1950’s, along with similarly well-known barangays like Bel-Air, Forbes Park, and Araneta. These form Cluster 1 if Makati.

Among the first developed by the Ayala Corporation in the 1950’s along with barangays Araneta, Bel-Air, and Forbes Park, San Lorenzo is one of the most commercialized areas in Metro Manila. It sits along the corners or Ayala Avenue and Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA), making it one of the most accessible places in the National Capital Region.

One of the most commercialized areas in the country, San Lorenzo is the home a number of retail and lifestyle centers, as well as handful of professional schools.
