The province of Laguna is called thus because it surrounds the southern and easternmost portions of Laguna de Bay. The third largest province in the CALABARZON Region (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon), the province serves as the center of agriculture, fisheries, and forest research in the Philippines.
With its vast agricultural and forest land, the province is a source of different kinds of fruit, including lanzones, mango, papaya, pineapple, and rambutan, among others. Considered as one of the major economic hubs of the country, the province is host to 18 industrial estates. Industries with a significant presence in the province include
vehicle manufacturing, electronics, and resorts and leisure. The recent widening of the South Luzon Expressway has further expanded the province’s economic viability, as it is now even easier to to get to and from Metro Manila.
Featuring a great balance between natural resources and urban development, the province of Laguna is easily a place where many would like to live in.
