Ingarden

Bored of the artificial China-made indoor plants? Want plastic Christmas decors that look and feel realistic? Ingarden is the place to be for Christmas decorations Metro Manila. It is, in fact, the favorite shop of some celebrities, including Kris Aquino, Heart Evangelista, and Sharon Cuneta, to name a few. Ingarden is a Portuguese brand that opened in 2013 to offer home decorations and Christmas ornaments. The annual Parolan Bazaar on Times Square Avenue in front of the Araneta Center bus station is another cheap option for budget-conscious. You can find here Christmas ornaments, from parol to Christmas balls, to poinsettias and other Christmas plants, as well as Christmas trees that can go as low as Php250 to as much as Php3,500.  If you want a fully adorned Christmas three, you can score a bargain for as little as Php5,000. If you’re patient, you can still haggle with the vendors at the bazaar. Capiz balls are also available from Php1,300 to Php1,500 while a parol can only cost Php500.

So if you wanted to find unique items to adorn your home, or get ready for the next holidays even if it is still the middle of summer, then the tiangge at the corner of Dapitan and Kanlaon Streets in Brgy. Sta. Teresita in Quezon City is the place to be.

From fabrics with Christmas-y designs to matching holiday plates, glasses, platters, and pitchers, about everything can be found in Dapitan Arcade. While many of the products sold are already affordable, buyers can further save by haggling, as the place is set up like a tiangge (flea market) after all.

While not quite as affordable as Divisoria, Greenhills remains an option for shoppers on the lookout for prices that are comparably more affordable than that of typical malls and department stores. The air-conditioned tianggehan serves as another stop that covers almost all types of shopping needs, be it Christmas decorations or gifts.

Apart from the Shoppesville or tiange area, buyers can find even more holiday décor options at Greenhills’ Virra Mall, or take a break in one of the many restaurants or food establishments, or see a film at the cinema. If visiting later in the holiday season, one can also see the Christmas on Display light show which the shopping center holds each year.

Kultura Filipino
