Brokerage success is anchored in long-lasting relationships. While strong business ties require a lot of effort, it often starts with a simple move: a meet-up. Sometimes, it’s coincidental, with you connecting with fellow participants in a seminar or conference. Other times, it’s intentional, interacting with brokers in a networking event.
Recognizing the importance of these events, Lamudi continues its streak of in-person gatherings, conducting learning and networking activities for real estate professionals this month of May. If you’re looking to expand your professional network and improve business ties with fellow professionals, Lamudi’s face-to-face events are the best places to be in.
Schedule of Lamudi’s Face-to-Face Events for May 2022
Take note of these dates below for Lamudi’s in-person events, and get ready for a month of building professional connections:
May 13 – The Lamudi Academy Live: Presenting Online
An excellent online presentation turns property seekers into buyers. But what exactly makes a winning presentation? This is the core topic of the next Lamudi Academy Live, equipping real estate professionals with skills and tools to create a presentation that compels clients to take action. The learning session, which will happen at the Lamudi headquarters in Makati, will run from 2 to 3 PM. It’s open to non-Lamudi subscribers.
May 19 – Lamudi Link
While you can meet fellow real estate practitioners in the learning session, you can also go to Lamudi Link, Lamudi’s business networking event, specifically designed for professionals to interact with each other. Here, you’ll be able to meet agents from different brokerage firms and representatives of property development companies and talk to them over your favorite drinks.
The best part about it is that while networking, you get to learn from industry experts. You’ll understand current and emerging trends, as the Lamudi team shares data gathered from the real estate platform. The event will happen at co-working space work.able located in Exxa and Zeta Towers, Bridgetowne, Quezon City. The program will start at 6:30PM.
Making the Most of In-Person Events
Face-to-face gatherings can bring promising opportunities for building long-lasting relationships, but remember that until you actually shake hands and converse with people, you won’t be able to maximize the potential of these events. That said, here are some action steps you can take to make the most of the upcoming learning and networking activities:
Share and Let People Share
Don’t be afraid to speak your mind at the Lamudi Academy class. Raise thought-provoking questions. The same principle applies to networking events. As you join small conversation groups, don’t hesitate to share what you think. Your insights can help enrich the discussion and perhaps make colleagues reflect on their own understanding of industry affairs. They could be good conversation starters, in fact.
But as much as you’re ready to talk, know when to listen. Your fellow brokers surely will have incredible insights and stories to share. Be genuinely interested in what they have to say.
Ask Yourself, “What’s My Key Takeaway Here?”
It’s not uncommon to struggle with information overload during trainings. This is why it’s always a good idea to reflect on the main point of each section of the presentation. This is also a good practice when networking with other professionals. Ask yourself, what can I learn from this colleague’s experiences and insights? What can I apply in my own practice?
Believe it or not, you’ll be more engaged in conversations with people when you have this kind of mindset. When they see that you’re extremely interested in what they do, they’ll remember you. They might even invite you to a coffee or wine session for an extended chat. This is a good jumping-off point to a long-lasting business relationship.
Don’t Be Glued to Your Smartphone
Looking at our smartphones has become quite a reflex. For us brokers, it’s second nature, especially since our mobile devices connect us to our leads. But for at least an hour or two of training or networking, give yourself a break from chatting on social media or answering emails.
You could be losing opportunities to form valuable connections with the people around you when you’re glued to your phone. You don’t have to be completely unplugged, but just be conscious of the time you spend checking emails or social media apps when you’re at an in-person event.
This month of May, consider attending an in-person gathering organized by Lamudi. Remember, the success of a brokerage career relies on strong business ties. Maximize the opportunity to strengthen relationships with fellow real estate professionals at the upcoming learning and networking events.
